GUIDELINES
1Malaysia Roundtable is an online discussion platform initiated by YAB Dato' Sri Najib Razak. Please note that the use of any information on the Roundtable is done so at your own risk. While we may at time respond to posts, administrators make no warranties or claims regarding the validity of any information posted by users on this platform nor do we review posts for accuracy of information.
Some important information to note before the discussion.
1. Stick to the topic.
2. Be respectful of fellow participants.
3. We reserve the right to remove offensive posts without notice.
4. Spam, obscene language, obscene material, personal insults and attacks, racial and sexual discrimination, trash talking are considered offences. Anyone found commiting offences will be contacted by the administrators.
5. Warning is given to participants who commits an offence. A ban will be imposed for repeat offences.
6. You must respect the privacy of other members and individuals. Do not post personal information without the express permission of the individual.
7. Consult the administrator for concern and queries.

FAQ
General
What is a Roundtable Discussion?
It is usually used as an expression for a group of people to sit down to discuss an issue, share opinions, strategies or just to brainstorm any ideas, no matter what they may be. At these meetings, individuals should be open, honest, and direct with others around the table; always showing mutual respect for the opinions of others. Roundtable in other word means that the table has no beginning and no end. There is no head of the table, so to speak. In other words, every one's input should be considered equal. Everybody has a say.
Who can participate in the Roundtable Discussion?
Any citizens of Malaysia above the age of 15 at the point of registering as a participant can participate in the Roundtable Discussion.
User Accounts
Do I need to register to participate in the discussion?
Yes, you need to register to participate in the roundtable discussion. Generally, registering is a good idea as it gives you many additional features.
What are the benefits of registering?
First of all, you will get a personal account which enables you to participate in the roundtable discussion and contribute your inputs and views to whichever discussion that you are registered to. You may also be able to vote on certain polls that will also be held during the roundtable discussion. You may also update your personal profile and stand the chance to be invited for events like Mari Berjumpa Mari Berhubung and the 1Malaysia Tea Party with the Prime Minister and/or other events that will be held in the future.
What do I need to register an account?
To register, you need have a working e-mail address which you will be using as your login ID. You also have to choose a password (which you can change afterwards).
What if I forget my login info or my e-mail address doesn’t work anymore?
You can always request a new password via the ‘forgot password’ link on the login form. If your e-mail address doesn't work anymore or if you have forgotten it, contact an administrator at roundtable@1malaysia.com.my. He/she may give you the e-mail address you’ve registered.
What are moderators or administrators?
A moderator is a person who checks one or more discussions for inaccurate posts. He/she may also help the Subject Matter Expert (SMEX) or participants in the roundtable discussion. An administrator is a moderator on all boards. Also he/she can assign moderators and change all configuration options of the discussion.
Why do I have to provide personal details?
You may have to provide your personal details so your valuable suggestions/inputs/ideas that you have put forward WILL be credited to you. It also helps to legitimise each participant during the roundtable discussion. Rest assure that your privacy is our utmost priority and we shall take all necessary precautions to protect your privacy and information.
Participation
How do I participate in the roundtable discussion?
On the [JOIN NOW] tab, you'll find a link to register yourself to be a participant. You can only participate in the roundtable discussion after you’ve registered to be a participant.
How do I opt out from a discussion?
You may choose to opt out of a discussion if you feel that you are not interested in the topic presented by sending an e-mail to the administrator at roundtable@1malaysia.com.my and notify them of your intention to opt out from the discussion. The administrator shall then remove your participation from the discussion on your request.
Why I cannot participate in a discussion?
Each discussion is limited to a certain number. You might not be able to participate in a discussion if all allocated seats have been taken up or the discussion period might have expired.
When does a discussion start and how long does it go for?
It is usually scheduled seven days after the topic is introduced. The reason is to ensure you enough time to register and join, then read up on or prepare for the topic. There is a countdown that shows you the time (in days, hours, minutes, and seconds) remaining before the discussion starts. Once the discussion starts, the countdown will show the time remaining before the discussion is closed. Usually one discussion will go for one week. However, these times can be adjusted based on circumstances.
Your Profile
How can I change my password?
You can change your password at any time when you feel that your password is no longer secure or you may have accidentally exposed your password by logging into your account and then by selecting Profile > Change Password. You will need to enter your current password and provide a new password of your choice.
How do I update my personal information?
You may edit your personal information by logging into your account and then by selecting Profile > Account.
How do I upload an avatar into my profile?
You can upload an avatar into your profile by logging into your account and then by selecting Profile > Avatar. You will be prompted to choose a file from your own computer and then click on Upload Avatar to upload it.
Topics and Posts
Can I edit or delete my comments?
If you have registered and are logged in, you may be able to edit and delete your comments (although the administrator may have turned off this option). Your ability to edit your comments may be time-limited, depending on how the administrator has set up the forum. Once you've made your modifications, a note may appear to inform other users that you have edited your comment.
Can others edit or delete my comments?
Administrators and moderators may also edit or delete your comments if your comment is offensive or contain any vulgarities in any form. If they do, there may not be a note telling other users that the post was modified or deleted.
Why can’t I post new comments or responses?
If no link appears to create new comments, you are not allowed to make new comments or responses in the discussion. This may either be a setting of the forum or the discussion period may have ended and closed by a moderator. In any doubt, please contact the administrator.
Can I post links or upload files into the discussion?
No. The platform does not allow you to do that.
Why do I vote on a comment?
If you think a comment is commendable or you may disagree with a particular comment, you may choose to click on like or dislike a comment.
Others
I didn’t receive any e-mails from this board.
Make sure the e-mail account is not blocked by anti-spam software. If not, the e-mail address set up in your profile may be incorrect or may not work anymore.
I have a complaint about this roundtable discussion. To whom should I direct?
If you have a complain, you can write in and address it to the administrator of this roundtable discussion at roundtable@1malaysia.com.my.
