On Tuesday, I called for national unity and an increased dialogue exploring Malaysia's unique diversity. Since then, this website has been visited by over 60,000 people and over 2,500 of you have provided comments. I could not be happier with the response and am overwhelmed by both the passion and the content of your remarks. Terima kasih!

To me, this reflects a willingness and readiness of Malaysians to share their views and ideas and, in doing so, contribute to making this country a better place for all of us. I must also apologise for not being able to respond immediately to all the comments because it takes some time for me to go through them. Although I will not be able to respond to each comment individually, over time I hope to speak on the various issues raised by all of you.

Clearly issues like unity, the economy, security, and education, among other things, are very important concerns for many of us, judging from the comments sent to this website. Many of you took time to write lengthy notes to express your views and I truly appreciate your passion for those serious matters that you raised and I welcome your constructive criticism. I look forward to discussing them with you here. This is precisely why this website has been established - so that we can really share our thoughts and try to figure out the best way forward for this beautiful country that we collectively call our home.

By the way, some people who posted comments referred to 1Malaysia as a "government website". I want to make it clear that, while I am part of the government, this is my personal website and not a government site.

Finally, I would like to add that this website is still a work in progress and I do apologise for whatever shortcomings it may have. I hope to be able to gradually improve 1Malaysia with additional features and content so that your visits here will be pleasant, meaningful, and informative. Meanwhile, I will try to regularly update the site with news and responses to your comments.

Thank you once again for visiting 1Malaysia.com.my. Let's keep this conversation going!

nadeeya: Ke mana hala tuju pegawai SPS (SKIM PERKHIDMATAN SINGKAT) selepas tamat kontrak?
1 MALAYSIA- RAKYAT DIDAHULUKAN, PENCAPAIAN DIUTAMAKAN

'Rakyat Di Dahulukan, Pencapaian Di Utamakan.'
Sekian Terima Kasih...

Sanda Kan: Conservation
Dear Sir,

I am a west malaysian who decided to relocate to Kota Kinabalu, Sabah where I currently reside. And it's true what you mentioned about Sabah being 1Malaysian already? Here, 3 (all) races sit in the same coffee shop. However, one thing is consistent with regards to most Malaysians and that is the total disregard for the environment outside their homes and cars. Sabah is the last frontier, and soon, it will be destroyed even more by the use of archaic technology to provide electricity. The people would prefer alternatives such as gas, hydro or solar energy but our voices fall on deaf ears. I have a simple question for you Sir? Why must the land and the people suffer and sacrifice in the name of development? Have the people's lives and voices been listened too? Are we being true to out 1Malaysian, people first - policy?

saya ambil contoh anak bangsa cina zaman dahulu...
kalau bijak..belajarlah hingga jadi doktor...

assalamualaikum wahai pemimpin semalaysia yg saya kagumi.

N.C.Lim: Pention.....disapppointment!!!
i've been serve the for the last 33 years.
i work as a driver Grade R3, at year 1976 - 1996 under the government salary payroll(JKR Miri, water work section), i was paid by daily rate. At 1997-2005, JKR Miri, water work section, started to pay me by monthly payroll policy.
upon my retire at 2005, my monthly pention amount only RM 230++ per month, is this reasonable???? for 33 years of services i contributed to my work and to the government and all i get after these 33 years are RM 230++ pention per month, this made me so disappointed with the government.
i would like to ask you, Sir, question1: how am i going to survive? question2: is this how the Malaysia government compensate those who contributed half their lifetime in the public service?
please do help me in this pathetic issues. thank you.

Pls remember Dato Seri, we too did vote for this present goverment (B.N) to help us not any other political party. We feel BN able to provide stability for individual & the whole country.Thank You & Regards.
